Where did the summer go?

It is amazing how so many of the things that your parents told you when 'you knew it all' at the grand age of 14 to 18 were actually true! I remember when time seemed to move so slowly that I could not wait to get my drivers license, then graduate and then finally be old enough to drink legally. My dad told me that as you get older, the years seem to go by too fast. At 15 do remember how long it seemed till you turned 16? Wow it seemed like one year lasted five. In the funny way that life takes us, the opposite is true. I have come to realize and admit (big swallowing of pride) that my dad was actually right about something. Who would have ever known that my dad had more experience than me as a teenager!!! Of course at 15 we had the answers for everything.

This year has flown by and now we find that we are already halfway through October. The leaves are changing, there is an early cool crispness in the air and of course the stores have the mass marketing Christmas products assaulting your vision with aisle after aisle of every imaginable decoration you could want. You just have to love the fall! But with the inevitable barrage of items for you to buy this also signals something else wonderful is here. One of my favorite times of the year has come. The most beautiful sight is driving down the road seeing the trees changing colors. Each day it is like God reached down with his paint brush to add some splashes of red and yellow to trees. Seeing large trees with vibrant red leaves could allow me to sit and stare at the beauty for hours, that is if I had the free hours to just sit around. For now I have to settle for watching briefly from the window of the car as I drive and trying not to be distracted for too long otherwise I will get in an accident. For the record, it has not happened yet.

Sorry for deviating from my earlier thought, but it is a little sales pitch to come visit if you have not experienced this most wonderful event!

Well this family has been busy with school, work, Sunday school and of course family. Throw in there a small home project or two to equal one busy summer. Through everything, I have an awesome God that is more awesome every day! How did I make without Him in my life?
This is short, but way over due. We will add some more posts (with pictures) soon.

Until then, have a blessed day!

Bryan
