When its cold, it rains!

The title is a take off of " when it rains, it pours" that we have all heard before. Not only was it really cold yesterday, but our thermostat decided it did not like this cold either. It was on its last legs Sunday. So on our way to church, back home and for a number of hours after that, we drove around with the "heater" spewing out air that I will love in about 6 months! We brought home one of the older saints in the church, Bert, who is 87 years old and a real fire cracker! As we were driving she asked if I had the air on or the window open!!!! Looking at the glass is half FULL, at least it was much warmer inside the car than outside. As I was driving over to a friends house to replace the thermostat, I drove by a bank that so nicely flashed me the great temp of -7! I am sure with the wind chill it was at least -30. That arctic air was blowing fast. After we fixed the thermostat issue, it was so nice to drive with heat and not see your breath inside the car. You appreciate the little (huge) things that we take for granted. I had to thank God for His love because he does provide a warmth from the cold of this world. He provides the physical jacket, gloves, boots and hat that we wear which protect us from the elements. So much more He provides the spiritual 'clothing' that protects us and keeps us safe. We do not even think twice about going outside without any of the protection in this weather, yet we do go without the spiritual protections too many times. WHY? What an awesome God we serve who loves us so much. Have a blessed and WARM day!

You are so right! We wouldn't go w/o protection from the frigid weather.! That is truth, Tammy! Thank you for sharing your heart in such a special way.
Lots of love to you and your family!
