Time Just Keeps On Tickin'
Ok, the after Christmas and New Year's stuff is over, but where in the world do I begin...again...got a "feel guilty" comment from a friend so I better catch y'all up on what's goin' down up nort'. Bryan filled you in on the storm that we hit going home to our families in WI/MN, but we also hit one coming back right as we hit Tomah, WI and it never ended until we reached our hotel in Madison. We were doing a lot of praying and praise God, there weren't too many people out at 11 pm the Saturday after Christmas. We reached the hotel safe and sound, but were completely exhausted from the ride. In the 6 years we lived here before it never snowed like this on any of our holiday drives across the states. But it sure did get us out of our "winter training wheels" in a hurry. We picked up our two cute doggies from a kennel in Janesville, WI and as we were walking out to the car we had a flat tire. Sooooo, nothing was open and we did some more praying...which the Lord answered big time b/c we made it all the way home with only having to fill the tire with air a couple times and Bryan had to leave early for Milwaukee Monday morning so that was another day without getting it fixed. We finally had to get some fix a flat, but the Lord kept us rollin' for quite awhile without having the tire repaired. Whew! We were home a couple days and then we started our big New Year project of making the attic/loft into Sarah's bedroom. Our friend Vince and his working partner went to town for a good four days to make a stairway up to the loft. It was quite a mess and Bryan was able to help a ton with it as well. We are still not quite done, but it looks really great! Bryan cut down Sarah's loft bed into a daybed so it would fit with the very slanted ceilings. It fit like a glove in the area we picked out for it. Thank the Lord! Now Sarah gets a bird's eye view of the street on either side of the house. She is up on the third level! We still have a lot of painting and drywall work to do, but it's coming together and Bryan will have an office with a door to close so we don't keep pestering him when he is doing his reports for work...teehee;-)! That has pretty much consumed our days as well as Bryan traveling a bit more. He was in Milwaukee last week and now Arizona this week. Sarah and I have been working on getting caught back up with school and quiz material. We've been slacking, but now it's super duper cold and suppose to get even colder tomorrow, soooo we are hoping to get caught up with some more. The temp is suppose to be a high of -4 with a real feel of -40 at night! That is so not fun. Our poor dogs can barely walk on the snow b/c it hurts their paws so bad. Poor things. It's suppose to warm up next week so here comes the freezing rain. Phew, never a dull moment that's for sure. I will try to post pictures of the project tomorrow. Before we put in the stairs to Sarah's new room, there was only a straight ladder that went into a rectangle cut into the floor with a removable door on it. I was quite scary as far as safety was concerned and younger kids couldn't go up it so now everyone is welcome to Sarah's messy room. :-) I pray that y'all are having a super blessed night and ask for your prayers for us in this intense, frigid cold. We'll be praying for you as well in your beautiful sunny "Florida winter" also...HA!
