Time Seems to Fly Faster in Chicago!

Ok, it's my turn to ramble on about the happenings here with our family...I want to start by saying how very much we miss our dear friends in Florida, but know that some day (hopefully soon) we will see their smiling faces with warm hugs again. And how very happy we are to be with our friends here in Chicagoland. It still feels as though we are on a long vacation.

We are so eternally grateful for all the help we had with our move from Florida all the way to Chicago. It was and still is truly an adventure that I am so thankful the Lord is allowing us to experience. I would have lost my mind a long time ago if it wasn't for my Jesus keeping me in His care!

The day after we arrived here at the apartment in Naperville, my wonderful parents came to stay with us a couple days on their way to Indiana to visit with relatives over the 4th. They blessed us so much with groceries and many meals out! Sarah had a ball having them here and having Bryan and I sleeping in her room with her on our awesome new inflatable bed from our friends Helen and Edward! Then we took our own trip to meet up with Mom and Dad in Indiana to see my grandpa who is turning 87 soon as well as other family that we love and miss.

Bryan enjoyed golfing with Mom and Dad while we were there. It was beautiful and not very humid at all. That is one of the things I missed in the summer up here was the low humidity and gorgeous weather. When winter comes I'll have a much different take on things, but I'll enjoy this while I can.

We have been on a whirlwind of events since we've been here, but the most time consuming one has been house hunting for sure. We found a great house that we all liked, put in an offer and had the inspection. We have been praying all along for the Lord to order our steps with this whole house thing and He came through once again. The morning of the inspection I was really uneasy and couldn't figure out why. Sarah went to her friend, Gigi's house to play so we could focus on the house stuff. During the inspection and looking into the house a bit closer, there were a lot of issues that would have made that house a true money pit including the entire roof. So we made the decision to back out of the deal and both felt a lot of peace about it. We are so thankful for the Lord's hand in ALL that we do. He is so patient with us!

Another new thing is that Sarah is in a mini version of swim lessons with her friend, Gigi. She started in the middle of the session, but is doing quite well. They jumped off the platform last night so Sarah thought that was pretty neat! Her instructor taught them how to dive head first with one hand, but she is having issues with the water going up her nose.

Bryan's job has been such a wonderful blessing. He has been home very early on many days so we are able to house hunt and run errands before it gets too late. He is doing a big job at a very ritzy hotel downtown so he took the Metra yesterday, but had to drive today. The Metra is the commuter train that runs all over the place in Chicago and is a true blessing when Bryan works in the city on a job.

We also started helping with the Children's Ministry at our church called JAM (Jesus And Me). It went great! The kids are so much fun and love to love the Lord. What a blessing! God has been and continues to be very good to us all.
